CSUN EVENING WITH INDUSTRY
Presented by, CSUN Department of Systems and Operations Management (SOM)
Highlight your company for graduating CSUN SOM and Supply Chain Management (SCM) students!
New for 2021 graduating students: The David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at CSUN started incorporating SAP into courses from Fall 2019; as of now, it has been incorporated in four different courses: Manufacturing Resource Planning, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management and Control, Logistics and Transportation Management. These courses use SAP case studies so that students may have hands-on experience with SAP and learn how the concepts/tools taught are applied in practice. Students who complete three qualifying courses with a grade of C or higher are awarded a certificate called SRA (Student Recognition Award) from SAP. The SRA certificate has been awarded to 30 CSUN students so far. These students have hands-on SAP experience, if you are looking for that.
SFV APICS is a proud sponsor of this virtual event to meet and network with graduating CSUN students in SOM (Systems and Operations Management) and Supply Chain. If you would like to meet and/or interview some students or you would like to present your company profile to the students and other companies there, please consider attending. Contact Associate Professor Jun-Yeon Lee at CSUN by email to reserve your place at: [email protected].
Here is the letter from CSUN for this event:

Dear Friends of CSUN Systems & Operations Management Department,
We are pleased to invite you to our annual Evening with Industry event. Due to the COVID-19 situation, this event will be held virtually this year on Thursday, April 15. We provide this event in collaboration with the San Fernando Valley Chapters of the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) and American Society for Quality (ASQ).
At this event, our industry partners and practitioners representing companies and professional organizations that potentially hire our SOM and Global SCM graduates will be present. This will be an excellent opportunity for faculty, company/professional organization representatives, and students to meet and network virtually.
The event will begin with welcome remarks and a short awards ceremony where we will recognize our best students and announce the winners of this year’s ASQ, APICS, and SOM Department scholarships. After the awards ceremony, company/professional organization representatives will have the option to make a five-minute presentation about their firms/organizations and the job opportunities they offer in the SOM and SCM fields. Following the presentations, there will be a breakout rooms session where students can meet and network with company/professional organization representatives. Here is a tentative schedule of the event.
6:00 to 6:45 pm – Welcome remarks & awards ceremony
6:45 to 8:00 pm – Company/professional organization presentations
8:00 to 9:00 pm – Breakout session with company/professional organization representatives
Please send me your email by Friday, April 9 indicating whether you can (i) attend the event, (ii) give a 5-minute presentation and/or (iii) staff a breakout room. If you have any colleagues from your company/organization who want to attend the event, please (iv) include their full names and email addresses in your email as well.
We look forward to hearing from you soon and hope to see you at this exciting event on April 15!
