Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument, 2017
Presented by, Michael Thornburg, CPIM, MBA.
APICS-SFV is kicking off 2017 with a presentation on the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI), developed by Kim Cameron and Robert Quinn, a great new tool for taking an in depth analysis of your company’s organizational culture. Mike will introduce you to the OCAI (pronounced “Oak-eye”), tool, and how it is helping companies identify traits that are impeding progress.
Has your company launched a Continuous Improvement Initiative (CI)? The OCAI can help you identify behaviors that could help your initiative be successful. It can also help you see where initiative implementation could have a corporate clash – is the culture the right fit for what you are attempting?
Considering a Lean CI? Want to better understand your workforce - see what direction the wind is blowing before setting sail on your Lean journey? It has been said, “structure trumps culture”, but what if your structure needs tweaking. One of the most important aspects implementing Lean is establishing the Lean culture. Do you have the right policies in place; Is the management structure appropriate for the new initiative; and is your management team on-board? Is your structure supporting your culture and visa versa?
The OCAI is a tool that is easy to use, accessible, and non-confrontational. Come learn about the OCAI and how you can put it to immediate use for yourself, your department and your company.
Attend this presentation to learn more about your company’s organizational culture!
