The San Fernando Valley Chapter of APICS is proud to announce this "Skills Gap 2016" Panel discussion. Our panel will field questions regarding the current career landscape and future of professionals in procurement, supply chain, production, manufacturing, and related industries. Where is your current career trajectory going to land you in five or ten years from now? Do you have the training, talents, and skills necessary to guide you through the job market or in your current company?

Panelists: Several have been lined up and we will update who they are as the information is confirmed. All have many years of experience in the business world and have much experience with training, hiring, and recruiting workers for their organizations. Among them:

We have invited Systems & Operations Management students from CSUN to attend this event. Many are close to graduation. If you are interested in meeting some promising future Operations & Supply Chain professionals, this is your chance! Bios of our Panelists:

Carlos Giron, AMS Fulfillment, HR: With 25 years’ experience in domestic and international Human Resource, Carlos spent the last 20 years developing and implementing HR best practices in the global logistics industry. With a focus on talent acquisition and development, workplace investigations, learning and development as well as  performance management. Carlos holds a BS degree from Woodbury University in Business Management with concentration in Human Resource.
    Carlos is also a reserve sheriff deputy for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and volunteers his time in the Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue team as a rescue technician conducting mountain, ice/snow as well as swift water search and rescue missions.

Dennis G. Umali, Matrix Business Group, Owner/President: Matrix Business Group has successfully placed key professionals with many local manufacturing companies. His company continues to serve Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business Development as well as Accounting and Finance departments. His group places professionals in Management, Director and Executive level positions.
  Dennis also conducts workshops on Job Development Training; teaching job seekers how to find work (other than just using the latest job board). He also conducts training on how to interview effectively, "Interviewing 101".

David Fisher, S&H Machine, President: Mr. Fisher has more than twenty years experience working in Aerospace & Defense manufacturing. He joined S&H Machine in 1995, and was appointed President in 2008. He is the Founder and current President of the Southern California Manufacturing Group (SCMG). He attended the California State University Northridge, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Communication.

Parking Instructions: CSUN Orange Grove Bistro has new rules for parking. Please have all guests stop by either info booth #1 or info booth #3 and ask for a guest parking permit. They must say they are with SFV APICS in order to receive a permit. This permit is valid in the G1 parking lot for parking spaces labeled OGB/University club which are numbers 1-31 ONLY. Once those spaces are full they are allowed to park in the G3 structure and G3 lot in any spaces not labeled employee. The permits must be displayed on the dashboard so that they are visible through the front windshield.

No-shows who do NOT cancel at least 3 days before the event, will be billed for their meal.

To cancel, send an e-mail to [email protected] and put Cancel PDM in the subject of the e-mail. Please include your name and the number of people who will be canceling (if you made a reservation for more than one.
